Calculating EV AA vs lower pair preflop allin
A higher pocket pair versus a lower one has 80% chance of winning when preflop allin. How do I calculate my equity...?
I have $50, villain has $50. I move allin with a pocket pair and he calls with a lower one: (0,8 * $50) + (0,20 * - $50) = +$30 ? Is this correct? |

Re: Calculating EV AA vs lower pair preflop allin
That's correct . Here is another way .
You win $100 , 80% of the time and win $0's 20% of the time (ignoring ties) . EV=100*0.8 -$50 =$30 I like this method better because there is only one multiplication involved . |

[ QUOTE ]
A higher pocket pair versus a lower one has 80% chance of winning when preflop allin. How do I calculate my equity...? [/ QUOTE ] Note that equity is not the same as EV. EV is what you'll make on average on that situation(+$30) and equity refers to the probability that you'll win the pot (0.8) |
