Winning sessions
Maybe there isn't an general answer for this question but I am just wondering out of lets say 10 sessions how many of those are winning sessions and how many are losing sessions for you in general.

Re: Winning sessions
Between 6 and 7. I think Sklansky once said a winning player should be winning about 2/3 of his sessions. The exact number depends on how long your average session is and how big an edge you have.

Re: Winning sessions
How long are the sessions? The shorter the sessions the closer to 50/50 it will be no matter how good you are.
I seem to racal a thread where the winning FR NL players had slightly over 50% winning sessions, maybe 52-55%. |

If you played just one hand per session, you'd win less than 10% of the time in a FR game, assuming you play well. |

Re: Winning sessions
How many hands would one want to do for it to be considered a good/not short session?

Re: Winning sessions
According to PT I'm at 58.21% since January. And frankly, I think that's low for most winning players. A better player than me should probably be higher, but I doubt it would me much over 65%.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't even think its low. I heard an interview with Brian Townsend where he claimed to win 56% of his table sessions. I don't win more than 55% of my table sessions. Lucky |

Re: Winning sessions
If I remember correctly BarryG said in his book that he wins about half his sessions.

Re: Winning sessions
The number of sessions you win can be completely irrelevent. If you win 1 out of 10 but in that session win more than you lose in the other 9 then you are in profit. There will be alot of players that are great when winning but worse than bad when losing.

Re: Winning sessions
I believe the ratio of winning/loosing session is completely irrelevant as it depends totally on the length of your individual sessions. It's the overall profit that counts, grinding cash games is to be regarded as one life-long session IMHO.
