Default Swimming in the fish tank...

So this weekend, one of my favorite fish was making his regular weekend donation and i took a seat.

Only problem was, i soon found out that an equally terrible donk was on my left.

Now most of the time, if i have a really terrible player at my table, i'll just move to their other side, and i would have as soon as a spot opened...but in the meantime, this donk on my left was making a mess of me.

If i raised a hand like 99, he'd call, and call every c-bet after. I'm having to play every hand blind.

It got to where i couldn't even bring anything in for a raise except really strong hands. Sometimes he paid me off, sometimes not, but for the most part, he made it really tough.

If you KNOW someone is going to call your preflop raise, and you know they are are a calling station, do you just tighten up your starting hands? C-bet less often?

How do you play againts someone like this? (Beside picking a new table, which is what i ended up doing)

Don't you want calling stations on your left so you can value bet the [censored] out of them?

So do you stop bringing in hands like 66 for a raise knowing you are going to be in a hand, OOP againts a calling station, with prob 2-3 over cards?

Maybe start just bringing in 99+ and AQ+?
Do hands like AT get stronger againts these players?

What about hands like KQ or QJ?

EDIT: Oh, 6-max btw.

He was running like 70/4 and folded to a c-bet like 20% of the time.

If that's a winning player, he's way more advanced than i.

In general, don't c-bet/bluff as much, and value bet more.

tighten up your raising standards when he has pos on you. Cbet less often, but still Cbet w/o strong hands. you can value bet A hi on the flop. bet larger to punish him for calling

all you have to do is work out his mistake and then punish it.

yeah, I really just wait for the hands. I call more and bet/raise less. "Take them to valueville" as I've heard it. These are the games that I look more for physical tells than any other game and just play ABC poker.
