Default chronic 3betting

lately i've seen a lot of people on the tables with 3b% in the 12-15 range, and a lot of times these players are pretty good otherwise, but in my opinion, that's just riduculous, and pretty easily exploitable.

example: i'm at a table tonight that's populated by myself, another reg, and 4 megafish. the other reg had a 3b% of 14, and every time he came over the top of me, i 4bet. whenever he shoved, i called. i didn't have to do the math to know that this guy is almost always folding to the 4bet, and that i can do this with pretty much any two. he folded so much that i had already made a buyin off of him before he finally picked up KK, which i sucked out on with AQ on the freeroll. he left after that.

i have no problem with light 3betting, but there's a time and place for it. i mean, look at this guy. he's in a sweet game, but decides that he's going to try and push the only other non-horrible player around? that's your ingenius plan, to gamble for stacks with DCI and then leave a bunch of money and fish at the table? that's pretty stupid.

i have known a lot of people that have been very frustrated by light 3betters as they move up through the levels to tougher games, but it seems like a pretty easy problem to solve to me. am i just being reckless in taking this aproach? to me it seems like if a person is well banked for their level, being reckless is really the only viable approach other than just getting up and changing tables.

So many people fold to 3bets at 50NL, that 3betting is so profitable. Lately I've been 3betting a ton IP.

It really depends on your opponent's PFR of course. If a 12/5/1.5 opens in MP, I'm folding my AT on button.

However, same situation, villain is 21/16/3, I'm 3betting everything. From 33 to air to A3s.

4betting light is no less exploitable than 3betting light, there are better lines to take.

there's a big difference between light (6-8%) and maniacal (12-15%). i don't really know how you can exploit being 4bet with that wide of a range, unless you really want to gamble for stacks on a regular basis with AJ type hands.
