Villain is a solid player that I've seen to switch up speeds on occasion. He was short but won a flip or two and had some big hands get paid off to get a big stack. I haven't seen him get out of line on anything, and generally isn't getting involved in many pots.
He's a winner verified by OPR, mostly in mid-stakes buy-ins no major scores (some in the 10k range, bunch in the 3-5 range) PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP1 (t40210) MP2 (t6210) Hero (t35383) CO (t26264) Button (t45643) SB (t52062) BB (t26865) UTG (t18193) UTG+1 (t45209) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t2345, 2 folds, Hero raises to t6345, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls t4000. Tough spot. If he bets big on the flop its an easy fold. Assuming he is a solid player, his check on the flop could be kk, aa, but most likely not aj-ak. He could have jj and think he is ahead. I would be tempted to call.

No thoughts on this? Was it horribly played from the start? What's my range from the start, what's villain's range, what's villain's range on turn and river, etc. what can I call with?
Should I have c-bet flop? Some ppl recommend this but I think it's kind of pointless in this position. |

I like the whole hand assuming you folded the river. I prolly raise a little bit more pre.

I hate this hand on every street but flop. Flat call PF, on turn you can fold you are soo behind his range which is JJ+ and AK you have no history you beat 1 hand JJ he doesn't bluff with KK

You need a very good and specific read on him to make a river call here.
You need a somewhat less strong of a read to make a turn call. From your description it doesn't seem like turn call is profitable. As mentioned already I'd probably raise more PF if I'm going to reraise. |

I'd raise more pre, 7500 or so. And I'd bet the flop. I don't think AK and AQ are in his range because calling your 3bet with those hands is bad, and AA we have to discount because an A hit the flop. I think checking behind is conceding the pot a high % of the time. And yes, this is a bet which will fold out worse hands and get called or raised by better (except KK, which may fold, but I doubt he has it).
As played, I'd call the river. I think he has JJ here a lot. AK, AQ are unlikely to call pre. TT would make quads, so we can throw that out. AA is less likely because an A flopped. KK I'd discount because I'd expect a 4bet pre from a solid player. Your hand looks like KK, QQ to Villain, and I think he expects you to fold to a river bet. 99-77 (against which you're 50/50 on the river board) are possible as well, but unlikely. And I think QQ is very different than KK here, the case for calling with KK is much, much stronger because QQ is then part of Villain's range. JJ I would fold. Edit: Although this is not a strong influence on my decision, I think his bet sizes are more indicative of trying to get you to fold than taking you to value town. |

I don't like preflop, I flatcall here against almost all opponents.
Fold the turn. You beat JJ. |
