transfer audio cassetes onto my PC?
Is it possible to transfer the music on my audio cassettes onto my PC?
Like how i can rip CDs I have a lot of old cassettes of dubious quality and was hoping it would be possible to get them on the PC and somehow clean all the noise off. Is there any software for this? Thanks for any advice. |

Re: transfer audio cassetes onto my PC?
You could hook up the cassette players line out to the line in on the sound card and use some basic recording software to grab it.
As for cleaning it up, can't help you much there, sorry. |

Re: transfer audio cassetes onto my PC?
I did the cassette player line out to the line in of my sound card and it works. I used Sound Forge to rip and clean up some of the noise but found it didn't do a real good job. I had about 500 albums and after awhile it got tedious. I discovered the joys of online files and pretty much found everything I had, and much more that I wanted, was out there for the taking. It's very hard to clean the noise when you rip cassettes in this fashion.

Thanks. Line in line out. perfect. I`d been told a while back there was a programme for cleaning up the noise but its looking like a wild goose chase.
The cassettes i`m thinking of are all DJ stuff From raves or someones bedroom so im not going to find them online but Sound Forge has got to be worth a go. Thanks again |
