Re: just got a webcam
it's going to be difficult to host a live streaming feed on a remote server. You have two options
1) use still images, updated as often as you like (every 5 seconds?) on a remote server. This is basically just getting webhosting (not free) then getting a program that takes a shot and uploads a picture at intervals (possibly not free). 2) Forward ports on your router and get a program that turns your home computer into a webserver w/ video feed. This will require a decent home connection (which you probably have already), either one program that acts as a webserver and video feed, or separate programs that each fill half the role. This opens your computer up to the internet though, so be pretty confident that the program you are using doesn't have any security holes in it. I would probably dedicated a physical or virtual machine to the task so that it was totally isolated. Plenty of people do this without isolating it, but plenty of people also give their bank account info to 'wealthy Princes of war-torn countries'... |

Re: just got a webcam
If you're not a hot girl who takes off her clothes, you realize almost no one will care to see your webcam aside from possibly family members, right?
