Weird line with a made flush vs a loose/passive
Villain is 46.5/7/1.7 after 50 hands. I've been pretty laggy.
He instacalled the flop bet fwiw. Anybody like this line? Re: Weird line with a made flush vs a loose/passive
i think you accidently put this in uNL but im probably just leding the river. Like you said he is passive so think your loosing a lot of value by checkin the river. Only way i can see this line being good is if he has Kx almost always and is bettin 100% of the time when checked to him. If you think so then i dont hate this line b/c i dont think he gets away from trips here.

Re: Weird line with a made flush vs a loose/passive
Let's put him on a range though, and then try to figure out which is better.
The only hands that call a bet, but check behind if we check are Ax and pp's. I don't think a pp is very because he calls a bet on a K-hi flop, and another one on a A-K-x-x turn. So I decided to go for a little bluff equity. Donkey's representing trips when the board pairs and he's likely to interpret my check as weakness. He's calling a push no matter what if he has a flush or trip K's. If I bet and he pushes, I'm always calling a push since he's so short and trip K's and lower flushes are big enough part of his range to make it +EV. |

I don't think a pp is very because he calls a bet on a K-hi flop, and another one on a A-K-x-x turn. 1. So I decided to go for a little bluff equity. 2. Donkey's representing trips 3. when the board pairs and he's likely to interpret my check as weakness. He's calling a push no matter what if he has a flush or trip K's. If I bet and he pushes, I'm always calling a push since he's so short and trip K's and lower flushes are big enough part of his range to make it +EV. [/ QUOTE ] your reasoning is fundamentally wrong. 1. He is passive, you don't have any FE that is significant enough to change your decision. 2. my head asploded. How do you make this read? He acts after you. You have to make up your mind before he does...how does he rep trip when you can't see him? etc. (if you mean a "set" then how do you get this read as well?) 3. he is passive and likely is drunk and or doesn't know how to count. He is not looking at your actions and trying to reasonably deduct your hand strength. Please bet. P.S. I am trying to help in your reasoning not trying to insult you. Be more decision based rather then results based....(ex. he is repping trips...looking back on the hand you can infer this only after you made your decision in question) |
