Oh my god I\'m going to win a pot
Pretty tough 60 game at Commerce. Someone raises UTG, 3 coldcalls, I call with 66 in the CO, button calls, blinds call. 8 to the flop. Villain in this hand is the button who is John, the laggy white dude with shaved head and some tattoos. Other guy in the hand is Sam the laggy Russian guy but he's not really that important because if he's not jamming the pot himself his hand sucks.
Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I'm a superstar. Check to me I bet, John raises, fold to Sam who calls 2, fold to me I 3bet, John caps. Raising the flop here with a flush draw is obviously a bad play but there's also 0% chance he caps an 8 here so he has 88/flush draw here and I'd assume he'd call with 88. Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Sam checks, I should try to bet/3 or c/r? |

Keep with the theme and fast play so there is not freeze up with the flush draw hitting.

Give your best "Whoa is me; he got there...again. Will I ever win a pot?" expression and then bet.

I guess the joke didn't permeate through. As for how I play, I always slam my chips in with too much confidence. I keep startling the little old lady two tables down. Re: Oh my god I\'m going to win a pot
bet/3 bet because the russian will likely call 2 with his likely ace of diamonds (which is what I think he has to have given that he played passively/stubbornly vs. all that action on the flop) and then you can make it 3 to them.

Re: Oh my god I\'m going to win a pot
This is similar to the folding a royal hand in HFAP. It doesn't make much difference what you do. However, DD is correct about the "grimace, bet" tell on scare cards - guaranteed nuts.

Re: Oh my god I\'m going to win a pot
This turn getting checked through is a disaster for you, and there's only one way to make sure that doesn't happen. Besides, he's much more likely to raise your bet than 3bet a checkraise, so betting is the obvious way to get more money into the pot, which is all you're concerned with at this point.
