Why are MTT\'s $$ so top heavy
Just curious.
It seems like the blinds are so high by the time you have gone from 2000 entries to 20 left that it is luckbox time to a great extent. Why not spread the wealth? Or is the draw of a big win what makes people play? I pretty much only play online, not sure if live is different. |

Live tournaments tend to be the same way. There's a very simple answer: faster blind structure means more tournaments means more money for the casinos or online sites.

Re: Why are MTT\'s $$ so top heavy
never quite understood this, you can skim a little off the top, still have a "big win" and make these things more popular by adding $50 or so to 18-10 so that one doesn't feel like a total [censored] entering into a $20 tournament only to win $40 3 hours later. I mean, yeah, that means first and second make like $200 less, but in all honesty, considering first makes like a ridiculous percentage of his investment, I doubt he is gonna mind that much.
