How many outs is a BDFD worth?
As most people know, the odds of hitting a backdoor flush draw after the flop is about the same as hitting one out. So should we value it as 1 out?
The difference comes in the fact that we may face another round of betting on the turn. Does the go up value go cuz we will often know on the turn when we whiffed and can get away or does the value go down relative to a standard out cuz we never have a made hand on the turn so can not extract as well? Do these balance out? |

[ QUOTE ]
Count it as .5 outs [/ QUOTE ] I usually do too. I phrased the initial question wrong...odds of hitting a bdfd is about the same as hitting 1 out after 2 more streets. So on the flop the bdfd is about the same as .5 outs. I'm trying to figure out if its worth slightly more or slightly less than 0.5 outs/street. Probably not important but Small Stakes Hold 'Em says its worth more and I always thought it would be a bit less. Now I'm just confused and wasting time on irrelevant details. |
