Re: Landlord Theorum
Interesting, makes sense and I tend to agree.
How do you play your hand then? I guess folding is a good option, but what if you pushed... Would your opponent crap his pants and fold a set? Opponent dependant I guess... |

Re: Landlord Theorum
I think we don't need another theorem, imo.
FWIW, I think when opponents starting putting in big money on monochrome boards they generally have greater than two-pair. They are trying to build a big pot while they are ahead. |

doesn't happen often to be a theorem srry [/ QUOTE ] It doesn't happen that often, therefore, it should stand as a theorum to have us and others prepared for when it does happen. If it happened every day then it would be a normal play and we wouldn't have to think and talk about it. I've been running into a lot of overbets lately, not sure why, but I have. Cazic, the best play here is probably to fold since if we're up against a set, we may make our hand, but still lose when the villain fills up. Odds are bad and the villain has announced that he has a made hand. |

Re: Landlord Theorum
what do overbets even mean? if it is a strong hand, you rarely get paid off. if it is a weak hand, you are investing too much money for info that you can get for cheaper.
i think the higher you move up, the less these overbets occur. |

Re: Landlord Theorum
I agree to an extent that such overbets often occur at micro and low limits. Indeed, a very transparent player will often overdonk a strong made hand in such a spot because he is so afraid of the draw. However, a smaller percentage of the time, a player will do the same thing with the Ac here. It doesnt apply in this case obviously as u have it. I like the idea, but I think it is also read dependent.

Uh, can somebody call the cops, my thread got hijacked...
I don't usually understand why donks do what they do, but I can't imagine overbetting the nut draw in this spot. Donks do some strange things!!! |
