Live 8-16. A hand I watched.
Reasonable playing LP open raises. Loose button calls. SB calls, and the BB completes with T2 of clubs. Flop T64 with one club. SB checks, BB checks, LP bets, button calls, SB folds, BB calls. Turn, 3 of clubs, BB bets, LP calls, button folds. River K of hearts, BB bets, LP raises, BBs Action? |

A dozen views, and no responses. This is clearly a tough spot. Take a guess, and don't worry, any play here might be wrong.

since you haven't provided any reads i'm just going to assume the villain is unknown. 10.5bb in the pot, unknown villain, i'd call since this is a great card for him to bluff on.

I think check calling the river is bad.
Why? |

Probably because we miss value if our hand is best. And it costs the same amount of money if our hand is not best, compared to a b/f on the river. But I don't know b/f is the line we should compare to.

You're not seeing many river bluff-raises. Not for something like just a King. Not 10%, or near it anyways.

Ok, I got enough folds here, that I think this is starting to make sense.
The villian told me that he was absolutely sure that the BB's sequence probably showed a crappy ten, or maybe a smaller pocket pair. Villian had AQ. Ordiarily, he would fold the turn bet, because he would actually have only 6 outs against a ten, (because of the flush draw, he actually only have 4) Instead, he decided that he might be able to get the BB to lay down a ten if a king also came, so he counted more like 10 outs ( actually seven again because of the flush draw). It turned out that he didn't have that many, because the T2, thought a long time, said, I suppose you have AK, and made a crying call. but it was an interesting hand. I noticed that there were a couple of posters that folded reluctantly, and that might be enough to make the play worthwhile, if the BB didn't have the flush draw. Because if you raise the club ace, king, or queen, you are going to end up losing 2 or 3 bets on the river. Anyway, it was just a hand that I saw, and I thought was interesting. |
