KK vs possible quads, line?
I've been pretty active last rounds catching some good cards and decided to slowplay this one.
Titan Limit Hold'em, $0.05/$0.10 (Titan HH Converter by Kreatief) Button ($2.20) SB ($2.06) BB ($3.08) MP3 ($1.72) (Hero) CO ($1.96) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks, Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ( 2.5BB ) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB raises, 1 folds, Hero raises, 1 folds, Button calls, SB raises, Hero calls, Button calls, The SB seems like a solid player and I'm pretty sure he has 22 or JJ because he capped the betting in a 3way pot. The button plays any pair like the nuts so I'm not really worried about him. Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ( 9BB ) SB bets, Hero calls, Button calls, Ok this card hurts and I'm either far ahead to JJ or far behind to 22. I'm kinda scared so I just called the SB. Should I have raised or minimize the action? River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ( 12BB ) SB bets, Hero raises, Button calls, SB raises, Hero calls, Button calls, Looking at it now I don't know why I raised the river when I was afraid on the turn the heat of the battle must have caused that When the SB re-raised me again I could almost see the quads through his cards but figured the pot was so big I couldn't fold. So how was my play? |

Re: KK vs possible quads, line?
Actions by street: Raise and cap. Raise and cap. Raise and cap. Raise and cap.
You got one street right. |

Re: KK vs possible quads, line?

Re: KK vs possible quads, line?
Yah, that's what raise and cap means.
Raise PF and you wouldn't have to worry about quad deuces ever again, but quads are so rare why worry about them at all? If you have SB on JJ then definitely make his 2nd best hand pay (if solid he’ll call and raise you plenty). This is a raising rock hand if I ever saw one. |

Re: KK vs possible quads, line?
The above posts are correct. Dont slowplay AA or KK preflop and dont always fear that someone has the only possible hand that beats you.
I would like to show you this hand, in which I think that my board was much scarier than yours. I am not suggesting that you should always play like this, but I would like to encourage you to try not to play too scared when you have a very good hand. I knew that this villain was playing almost any two cards and was very aggressive. So I adopted a more agressive approach in this hand than I may have against a different opponent.
