NL400: Has FullTilt Regulars become worse players?
Look at this month's winrates from the regulars. The two people with over 5k in winnings are donkies in my opinion. I remember looking at this summary back in may and seeing many regulars winning over 10k by middle of the month. Is there an explanation for this? Has the post legislation really making huge affect on full ring earnings or poker in general? Is there less dead money flowing? Are other limits suffering this much damage as well? What's it like for NL100-NL200 players? I would like to hear some comments regarding this. |

Variance? There will always be spurious patterns in random data sets, and what you described changing only for this month doesn't seem like it has to have a reason. Whether and how much any factors are affecting real win rates... who knows? I certainly don't. Wait and see if this trend continues for a few months.

Re: NL400: Has FullTilt Regulars become worse players?
Its an interesting take, but I personally don't see the games having toughened up over the last few months at 100NL, 200NL. Whenever I've datamined higher there always seem to be a few donks to prey on. What is your view from playing in 400NL+?

Re: NL400: Has FullTilt Regulars become worse players?
Well I'm at NL100 on tilt, and there's definately not a shortage of dead money. Looking at that list, I'm up just under the average of that list for about the same number of hands ~ $1800 over last 15,000 hands. Friday through Sunday I was sitting at 12 tables with an avg VPiP of 26% or higher, usually with 2 or 3 players with the typical 40/6 donk stats.

Re: NL400: Has FullTilt Regulars become worse players?
I typed out a long post and for some reason it deleted, so I will just summarize.
I agree that there is "definately not a shortage of dead money," however there are a lot more educated, thinking players trying to get it. I think a periodic change in style keeps other regulars guessing, while still taking advantage of those who are less skilled. Still, compared to the Party Poker days when people were shoving preflop with nearly ATC, the competition today is considerably more tough. Just take a look at PT screenshots. PartyPoker in 2005 when I only 4 tabled (screenshot from a while ago on my laptop): http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/3879/partybg1.jpg Fulltilt in 2007 from July 1 till now (about the same # of hands at NL100): http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/2493/fulltilttt4.jpg |
