is calling an option or do you not want to let him price himself in for his overcards with the weak bet?

Re: 400NL: Turning a hand with SD value into a bluff, part 1.
I like just calling here, your hand still has show down value. Controlling the pot is important, and with your position you will more then likely get a check from him with QJ and below on the river. Allowing you to win the pot when your 10's are good, and not losing a large amount of money if your 10's are no good.
Again raising here is not bad either, as long as you don't face any more heat. $Clover |

Re: 400NL: Turning a hand with SD value into a bluff, part 1.
So this is what I'm thinking...
I think he most likely has overcards, 44-99, or a FD based on his small turn bet. In other words I think I'm almost always ahead (though vulnerable to some of his range). I don't know why a J would bet small like that on the turn unless it was a weak J that wanted to test the waters. So a strong J is unlikely imo, a weak J a possibility. If you take my read on his range as a given, that means that I should raise both as a bluff and to protect my hand at the same time...weird huh? Anyone picking up what I'm putting down |
