Re: okay picture of bear in my window
Diablo,
My folks used to live in Breckenridge, high up in the hills. They had lots of bears there and they became a total nuisance because bears are so smart and coordinated. They would literally figure out how to open garage doors, throw around all the trash cans, and break all kinds of stuff. Well, one of their neighbors had one of those big freezers in their garage where you lift the top and it was filled with all kinds of food. One day the bear tore off the door to their garage and broke into it the freezer. It took little bites out of all kinds of food and then left. The neighbors were not home for that one, but came home to the carnage a few days later. They fixed everything up and got new food for the freezer. A few days later that bear broke in again. They had put a padlock on the freezer door, but the bear tore that thing off. The neighbors were home this time and heard the commotion in their garage. Our buddy the bear was passed out on the floor with two empty gallon-sized containers of Haagen-Dazs sitting on his belly. Nothing else in the freezer was touched. Seems our little friend developed a taste for ice cream. Animal control came out to pick up the bear. |

That's a cute little guy. I'm glad to see that you may have made your first friend up there in the woods, old man.

Re: okay picture of bear in my window
whats on his fur is called hounds tongue, or beggars lice by the locals. its those little sticky seeds that get in your socks whenever you walk around in fields of weeds.
he is a young bear a few years old. i saw him last year a few times around the place. i think he lives on the islands in the river across from my place. he likes to try to beat me to my apples before i get them. he was looking in the basement window first then came around to where the picture was taken. then i decided that was enough and banged on the window and opened the door and yelled at him and he took one look at my mug and ran for miles. |
