I don't think anyone can afford to play live low limit (assuming 4/8 or less) for a living. That being said, you should always tip the dealer. Do some reading in the Brick & Mortar section of the site.

No tip for blind steal
50 cents for small pot $1 for average pot $2 for HUGE pot Don't tip dealers, runners, waitresses too much or it will eat your profits. |

[img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] But I agree, $1 a pot is fine. Many loose player (and dealers who play) will tip up to $5, which I think is spewing chips. The ElDorado in Reno uses quarters. I like it; it minimizes the rake and you can tip with them or use them for blinds. |
