1/2 game on stars. I open 8836 single suited on the button to 3.5xbb, sb calls, unknown bb makes it 15xbb. effective stacks are 100xbb all around. You call here? sb is pretty unspectacular but not a spewmonkey.

If you can't call a single raise you likely shouldn't have raised in the first place when stacks are 100BB or more. You have position and a hand that will likely get paid off if you flop well.

[/ QUOTE ] I am curious why you think this. the % of the time i get reraised here is so low I think it should hardly even factor into our decision to raise to begin with. to the thread: thanks. I didn't realize how loose I was. |

If you're not willing to commit another 11.5BB in a 45BB pot with a chance to win another 85-170BB (assuming the SB generally calls the reraise as well) then it's likely a hand you should not have played in the first place, let alone raised. Raising solely based on position in PLO is generally a waste as you are not often going to win the blinds, so you fall back on your position giving you an edge postflop, which should make things better for you if you get reraised. The only time I ever raise preflop and fold to a single raise is against 40BB and smaller shortstacks when I don't feel my hand has enough equity against their range to call the raise.

raise is fine, calling now is fine.
