Early Heisman favorites
The college football season is underway and we finally got a look at some of this year's Heisman favorites for 2007.
Who looks to be top dog in this year's race? The popular choice seems to be Darren McFadden, the junior RB from Arkansas, which makes sense. He was the runner up last year. This is very likely his peak year and he'll probably forego his senior year and enter the 2008 NFL Draft. Other notables includes Colt Brennan, who threw 6 TDs in the first half of yesterday's game. Could have gotten to double digits had he played throughout. Brian Brohm had an outstanding game, albeit against a much inferior team. Other hopefuls include John David Booty, Pat White, Steve Slaton and Colt McCoy. |

Re: Early Heisman favorites
Hart's chances got a boost with Henne's lousy game but there's still no way he'll win. GG, Michigan candidates.
White and Slaton will split votes. McFadden's numbers will be cut a little by Jones and Huston Nutt's general insanity. Given how much team success impacts voting, as of right now, I'd rank the favorites as: 1. Booty 2. Brohm 3. Brennan 4. Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebow. |

not so sure mike hart should be on the list any more. [/ QUOTE ] Really? 188 yards and 3 touchdowns isn't too bad, against an App St team that is obviously decent. And I'm not even a Michigan fan.... (obviously) but feel free to replace him with the future Heisman winner, Sam Bradford...or Demarco Murray...or Mossis Madu...one of the three. |

no Tim Tebow? [/ QUOTE ] I have no idea if youre being sarcastic, but this is why there are so many Tebow haters. I am not one though, I think he will be good and I wanted Bama to get him. A guy who has started 1 game against a cupcake should not be recognized as in the Heisman race yet. Putting Tebow on any top 5 QB list or on a Heisman list is utterly retarded. Let him play someone first. I think he will be good this year and UF probably wins the East, but no Heisman talk please. |

Re: Early Heisman favorites
Just keep in mind that Hart did all of that in 2 quarters. He was injured for the other two. It's a small consolation knowing that if he stays healthy that at least someone can do something when everything else is going to hell.
