Default dorm etiquette: bringing a girl back to your room

I'm pretty good friends with my college roommate and he's a really nice guy, but I feel weird asking him to leave if I'm trying to bring a girl back to our dorm room. He has a girlfriend back home who is not going to visit, so it's not like I can tell him "if you leave the room tonight I'll leave the room whenever you bring a girl to the room". What's my play?

If you're good friends with him, this shouldn't be an issue at all.

1aguilas,

Asking is so standard in college, but it's more difficult since you can't reciprocate when he gets some trim. Just be nice about it and fill the fridge with beer one day and say thanks for being a good sport about it.

It also depends on how much you're getting. If you're a huge pimp, or have a girlfriend, it's inconvenient for him to be leaving all the time and you might as well get used to him being there when you get laid sometimes. This is very standard as well. If you're only getting laid occasionally, you deserve some privacy.

Anyway, enjoy college. I just graduated in May and miss it already. Where do you go?

Just make sure he gets some hookups with the friends of the girls you bring back -- and if he begs off because of the gf, then just tag yours and the friend.

Stick a hat on the door, he will know not to come in.

A) This should not be a problem, as a friend should be willing to disappear for a while to keep from [censored]-blocking you.

B) If you feel bad asking, just make out with your girl really aggressively until it's so uncomfortable that your roommate leaves. This is the fun/comedy option. If he sticks around, stick it in her. No skin off your nose if he likes to watch.

Simple. Give him a camera and tell him to film.
