Prolly a pretty bad way to play 99
Aggressor had not raised pf in 22 hands. Had raised 77 once post flop on a 522 board, then folded to my turn check raise pair of 10s. CO was very loose, calling down any pair. I was reasonably sure he was basically dead money on this hand.
I decided to call down as I could envision villain staying aggressive with a pair worse than 99 or with AK, plus CO sweetening the pot. However, I think this was probably a poor way to play this hand -- wondering if I should have A) folded the flop UI figuring to be almost for sure behind or B) playing it WA/WB and betting the river. [/ QUOTE ] A) No way, against AK and TT+ you have enough hand to continue. If you think he'll check through AK I'd donk the turn. On the river betting is alot better than check/calling since he'll rarely bet a worse hand, AK should never bet and we have a read he only limped 77? |

Re: Prolly a pretty bad way to play 99
This hand would have been easier to play if you would have check raised the flop.
btw, how do you know he raised 77 once post flop on a 522 board, then folded to my turn check raise pair of 10s? |

He said "77 no good, I guess" in the chat box. Pair of T's were mine.

Re: Prolly a pretty bad way to play 99
OK, So it seems like c/r on the flop is the consensus. But help me out with two questions:
1- if his 3-bet range is TT+ & AK I am ahead of 16 hands and behind 30. So it seems like I would want to get to showdown as quickly is possible. 2- Or is my c/r for information as much as anything? If so, I assume I fold to a 3-bet (or call and fold turn UI). |

Re: Prolly a pretty bad way to play 99
I think the plan must be to fold the turn to a 3-bang. I assume it is a raise for value with a good chunk of information in it.
I don't think taking a passive line is bad tho against someone who will 3-barrel. I'm not sure weather you should bet the river or not, AK might call but thats is pretty much it. AQ and less is probably checking behind and I don't think they are calling but if Villain is a showdown monkey then its a bet. |

Re: Prolly a pretty bad way to play 99
I really don't understand a flop c/r.
I'm concerned about LP drawing, and I'm trying to think of a good way to make him fold. |
