Default Playing against someone who is intimidated

5-10nl at Resorts in Indiana. Opponent is a newb who plays very ABC poker. I am not trying to brag here, but he respects my game A LOT and has seen me make several excellent calls/laydowns, and has verbally told me he doesn't want to get involved with me. Villain has $600, I cover. My image is LAG.

I'm button with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Two limpers to me, I limp, SB (villain) raises to 50, folded to me, I call.

Flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Villain bets out 75, I call

Turn is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Villain bets out 75. He has 400 left.

I don't think your hand is good against this villain. His raise preflop OOP should be AQ+, 99+ if he is an ABC player. I think his turn bet is saying he has a hand that beats 88, but he is afraid of the queen. If he respects you and is scared enough, he will fold to a shove. I think shoving is better than raising to $200 and folding (?).

Agreed. This is what I ended up doing. He spent maybe 5 seconds thinking, and then called. River was a blank, I flipped up my hand, and he mucked??????!!!!

The only hand I can possibly imagine him having after he mucked is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I definitely did not think I was ahead, but figured that if he had a pair 99-AA, I might get him to lay it down considering he was scared of me.
