Moving selctions of hands in PT to new PT DB
I want to take all my hands from 4 months ago using only 3 specific limits and put them in a new db for performance sake.
Can anyone give me a quick guide to this please? Assume something like this: "file" => "Maintain database names ..." => Add => <creates a new db?> Then maybe "utilities" => Export Hand Histories To File" Than maybe select the new db as the default and unselect others Then import those hh's? Does this sound right at all? |

Re: Moving selctions of hands in PT to new PT DB
Hmm ... after creating the second postgres database (see image below), when i open up ring game stats, it shows all the hands from the first postgres db before i imported any.
Anyone got any ideas why this is? |

Re: Moving selctions of hands in PT to new PT DB
You have to give the second one a different name when you are promted to name it in the conversion process- both of them are called PTPGSQL1 in your picture, you must have let it do it by default I guess- name the next one PTPGSQL2 or similar. Once you sort all of that out you can delete the one you duplicated also.

God, I suck at computers.
When I select something on that area, it only gives these options (see pic below). Do I need to go somewhere else to create a new postgres db first? Like some command prompt and do something? |

Re: Moving selctions of hands in PT to new PT DB
You have to convert databases from Access to Postgres. So make an new access database using "create a new empty access database"- Poker Tracker will give that a name automatically much like your "My first" up the very top- will be ptrack2.mbd or similar. Import this batch of hands into it that you are wanting to make this new database from and then that will be converted using the top three funtions you see under "utilities" on the main page. I'll keep my eye out lol (know how you feel- was hopeless also)

You need to create a new access database and then convert it to postgres. There is no way to create a new, blank postgres database in PT.
