Is it standard to dislike your girlfriend\'s friends?
This only applies to girls that you didn't meet through mutual friends. Your bank of friends is completely separate.
I've never met a guy who likes his girlfriend's friends. I don't hate them, but I don't have anything in common with them, and I don't exactly look forward to hanging out with them. They're nice enough people... Anyway, from what I've noticed, this seems to always be the case in those types of situations. Anyone experience the opposite? |

Re: Is it standard to dislike your girlfriend\'s friends?
This might be related to the phenomenon of women remaining friends with other women that even they don't like. My wife has a couple of friends that are just terrible, and she knows it but stays friends with them anyway.

Good point, los. It depends on how you meet the girlfriend. I've met most of my girlfriends through common activities (club sports, church, etc) so frequently their friends also have interests I can relate to.

Re: Is it standard to dislike your girlfriend\'s friends?
Meh, I liked most of my girlfriend's friends so far. Too bad she doesn't do threesomes ;-) In all seriousness though, I'm not saying they'd necessarily be my friends if I hadn't met them as g/f's friends, but dislike? no.
This might have something to do with the fact that my g/f seems to be easy to drop a friend if she disappoints her / grows apart / makes diff choices in life. |

Re: Is it standard to dislike your girlfriend\'s friends?
Ok, dislike is a little strong. I seriously dislike one of her friends. But the rest - I'd never be friends with any of them if not for her. I wouldn't refer to any of them as "my friend," and I've known most of them for 1.5+ years.

Of course it's standard. Your girlfriend does stupid annoying girl [censored] with them. Guys don't like stupid annoying girl [censored]. The only redeeming value of your girlfriend's friends is that they provide an outlet for her stupid annoying girl [censored].
