Default Bad river card?

Preflop may be a little loose for some of you, but given that I did call, is there enough room on the river for a value bet?

Villain is a relatively unknown player, but he is known to be aggressive (which is why I took a flop against him).

I don't think he calls with anything you beat and only might fold a better king (might!!!) I check it through.

EDITED TO ADD: After another look, there are no better Kings. All the more reason to check thru IMO.

Wouldn't SB call Ax, Kx or a big pocket? I don't see any reason not to bet the river.

EDIT: Oops, missed the board pairing on the river. Since villain is loose aggressive, though, I think there is a good chance he would call with a bare K.

I missed a couple of things here also. I still think I would check this through but a bet may indeed be better. I'm just not sure. The ace is a concern but I doubt villain raises with Ax. So not a huge problem.

I say bet. Basically it's 50-50. If has has an ace you lose, if he has a king you win (if he had AK an aggressive player would 3bet turn). Betting adds fold equity.

wow what a terrible river. Sorry Aaron, I'd check behind. I can't put him on a hand we beat at this point that isn't low on his list of possible hands.

Yes.

I checked behind and was surprised to see that I outdrew K9o. I did not include such a weak K in his SB raising range.

Then why did you call with an even weaker one?

There was a limper and I had position on villain. I'm starting to get a sense that 5:1 preflop is a much better proposition than I used to think. I might be overvaluing hands a little right now, but I'll have to play a while like this to see if I really like it.

I was planning to fold the turn UI because AKx flush draw is a terrible board for me to call down on and I would have waited for another hand to try to get to showdown against him. Peeling the flop with a 4-5 outer was pretty close, but I didn't have reason to think the limper would raise given that he openlimped from the button.
