Stars $10 NLTRN w/ no blind increases: TPGK turn play
Some regulars from this HU forum may remember me from the STT forum. After taking some time off, I've been playing $10 NL no blind increases SNGs on Stars to sharpen my HU game.
This hand is the 9th of the tourney. I got shortstacked on an earlier hand with top two pair on a paired board but a weaker kicker. No strong reads. 1. Do you call villain's reraise push on the turn with TPGK? 2. How do you like the line on the earlier streets? Blinds: $15/$30 2 players Converter Stack sizes: SB: $2220 Hero: $780 Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB calls, Hero raises to $90, SB calls. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($180, 2 players) Hero bets $100, SB calls. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($380, 2 players) Hero bets $200, SB raises to $900. Hero ? |

Definitely a call. I would raise more on the flop and the turn. You're gonna see nines there alot, or a flush or straight draw.

[/ QUOTE ] nice to have u back shadow, im sure u remember me from the olden days of STTF....well, i hate your line here bro...the river call is pretty trivial as an insta call. That's not really my concern here though. I hate the preflop raise size...I'd make it at least 120. Then on the flop ur in a tough spot but you have to bet....then on turn its call city. |

Indy,
I recall you well. Been enjoying your interview posts. As for the PF raise, I've been experimenting w/ 2.5xBB from the SB and 3xBB from the BB. To the extent that results may inform future decisions, villain flopped top two pair. The river did not save me. BTW, Nichomacheo just posted a similar hand at Oh, Top Pair! NLTRN. The Shadow |
