nlcash - .5/1 set
Ok, so I had played this guy for a while and simply put, he wasn't putting a ton of money at risk with weird/marginal hands. Tbh most of our match had been small pots...he doesn't like continuing after the flop unless he has *something*.
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 2 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) BB: $94.80 Hero (SB): $227.85 Preflop: Hero is dealt 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero raises to $3.00, BB calls $2.00 Flop: ($6) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets $6.00, Hero raises to $24.00, BB calls $18.00 Turn: ($54) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $30.00, BB calls $30.00 River: ($114) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets all-in for $37.80, Hero calls $37.80 Pot Size: $189.60 ($0.50 Rake) He's capable of betting the flop with a draw, any pair, a medium pp (he'd reraise a big one preflop most of the time). Based on his previous play he doesn't donk bet often and I think he'd donk bet draws less than pairs/made hands. On the turn I thought for a long time between the line I took and checking, then calling the river or raising allin if I boated up. Buuuut, I just saw pocket pairs and stuff like A6 dancing in my head that I could probably stack with a $30 bet. On the river I think my odds are too good to fold here, plus the pot is so big and I've played so few big ones with him, I can't discount that he's not bluffing for it. What lines do you guys look at closely here? Yugoslav |

Re: nlcash - .5/1 set
I think you played the hand fine, and I like betting more than checking. Betting charges hearts, lets A6/67/64/whatever call, and it gives you odds to call if he shoves. If the river is a brick and villain open shoves, what do you do? So I like the bet here. Besides, what hand with a 5 in it is this villain lead calling? a5s? I'm not really sure.
As much as I'd like to, I can't fold that river either. |

Looking at the hand again, though, a check behind maaay be better vs. this opponent, but it likely isn't a huge problem if I miss doing it since vs. the vast majority of the foolios I seem to play, betting is always good here.
