Usually with loose monkeys sitting to my left I prefer to have a pretty solid starting hand if I'm raising it up especially if other decent players will start over calling with speculative hands hoping to win a big pot. I guess this is okay for the times you hit two pair vs. his whatever but as played this is an easy fold.

I call here. This could easily be a draw, but more importantly, he can play a worse ten like this so often. We're beat by I guess T8/AT/22 and thats it...maybe this is the type of maniac who doesnt rr 88 preflop. But even then, maniacs DO seem to slowplay big hands every now and then as well

What do you mean easy fold? We need ~41% to make this neutral EV and look at our equity against this range.

Board: Th 8d 2d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 35.944% 34.68% 01.26% 10301 374.50 { KsTs }
Hand 1: 64.056% 62.79% 01.26% 18650 374.50 { 88, 22, AdQd, AdJd, ATs, Ad9d, Ad8d, Ad7d, Ad6d, Ad5d, Ad4d, Ad3d, Ad2d, KdQd, KdJd, KdTd, Kd9d, QdJd, QdTd, Qd9d, JdTd, Jd9d, Td9d, T8s, 9d7d, 9d6d, 7d6d }

Throw in a few worse hands like QT/JT/T9/J9 and watch what happens.

Don't for get AA/KK and 1010. Though maybe only put one combo of AA in and one of KK (always possible- or maybe just 1 AA). I don't know, to me it's an easy fold, I just don't like getting myself involved in these situations. I think it's more important to to be aware of table dynamics and position so that this doesn't happen rather than putting together huge ranges vs. a maniac to see if I can call with +/- 5% equity. It's a part my game I try to do without.

It's either +EV or it's not. Do you play underrolled?

No, I don't play under-rolled. I gave you my opinion and tried to help. Anyway, gl.

I'm leaning towards a call here.

Villain has already shown that he wants to get paid off with a big made hand (his 1/2 pot bet with a Flush). This looks way more like he's trying to blow you off the pot (and I don't think you're getting levelled by a guy with those stats).

With his AF, I think he's got a HUGE range here. Not only are draws and worse T's in there, but so are UI overcards and underpairs like 99.

Call and expect to get sucked out on.
