Sunday Million, less than 250 left, UTG w 88 and 18BB
Sunday Million less than 250 people left.
Just got moved to the table a few hands ago and promptly lost a $250k flip when I raised in LP w TT and called a push from SB who I had covered 2:1. I'm mostly wondering raise more pre? What about checking behind on the flop?

Yeah some will try to make a case for a minraise I guess preflop but I personally hate it and think you need to raise to at least 30k for a variety of reasons.
Flop bet is good as long as you are willing to felt. I don't like a check because you're going to hate most turn cards. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm mostly wondering raise more pre? [/ QUOTE ] That's debatable. I usually don't raise anything with 18ish BB's in EP that I'm not calling a push with since if I see a flop I'm commiting my stack, and I'm not deep enough to open and fold (IMO). [ QUOTE ] What about checking behind on the flop? [/ QUOTE ] Not unless you are trying to induce a bluff and are turbo shoving over it. There is really no good reason to check this flop ever, if you are thinking of check folding this flop then fold PF. You've commited 32% of your stack by flop, you are not folding here ever. You can flat call and try to get the rest in on the turn or just jam now, but neither are folding anything you are behind, but a turn jam on a blank may fold a hand that has good equity vs you now (like two overs + draw), but if the turn blanks you want him in anyhow.....just jam. Re: Sunday Million, less than 250 left, UTG w 88 and 18BB
My line is making it 30k PF. When button calls there is almost 70k in pot. This flop is great for us. If he had us smashed, he still does, and if we were ahead we prob still are. If he bets I am instapushing. If he checks I bet about 40k which leaves me about 150k. This is jsut enough to enduce him to come over the top with a bluff. He might take a card off and call my 40k and look to hit his 6 outer on teh turn. If a broadway card hits and he hits i will be forced to tough decision but I'll live with it.
