Line check AKs bubble facing big stack push, $30 stars
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com
I'm an MTTr practicing ft play, I'm a little weak in these spots. Villain had done this a few times, but he wasn't the bully he should have been. UTG (t7310) Button (t1265) SB (t2400) Hero (t2525) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t7310, 2 folds, hero folds? I think this was a snap fold, but it got me thinking, does button stack size at say 2400+ make this a call? |

Re: Line check AKs bubble facing big stack push, $30 stars
Yeah this is a fold even if UTG is shoving 100%. If Button's stack was say 2400 this would be a call, but not one I'd be delighted about making.

Re: Line check AKs bubble facing big stack push, $30 stars
i'm sorry but snwiz is wrong here
if its even showing +ev to fold its AK suited vs a big stack, everyone has 6+ bb... absolutely no way im folding this hand SNAP FOLD... WTF. One guy has 6 bbs. You have 12 bbs. WTF are you waiting for, you CRUSH the big stacks range during this hand. [ QUOTE ] Villain had done this a few times, [/ QUOTE ] this sooo seals the deal anddd youre in the bb. (almost 10% of your stack already commited, plus the dead money from SB) i'm trying to WIN the tournament, not take 3rd place. thx. another example of how relying too heavily on icm can lose you money that dude (button) could hang around for 4-5 more orbits, you gonna sit there and fold the best hand that entire time? |

Villain had done this a few times, [/ QUOTE ] Honestly this really seals it. If BB hadn't been raising much and fairly tight before this hand it may be a fold. But.. being as youve noticed his aggressiveness... small stack having quite a few orbits left.. and you crushing him due to your read.... its an instacall for me |

Re: Line check AKs bubble facing big stack push, $30 stars
Triple Optics. When calling you use ICM and in this case its a clear fold. Calling is really costing you $ in this spot. Even if you win you are still on the bubble. No we will not sit there and fold into the money but when a +$EV situation arises it will be taken.
Calling here at this buyin will cost you $2.63 and people complain about rake |

Re: Line check AKs bubble facing big stack push, $30 stars
at worst its a coin flip, most likely you dominate and put yourself in position for the chip lead.
sorry icm is just wrong here. you dont fold just because the small stack has 6 big blinds thats a seriously bad play |

I am folding here because calling loses me $$$. FWIW KK+ is a call. |
