Probably raise a little less pre, but with an overpair and 2x pot on the flop, you're going broke.

Yea when I raise I make it like 1k straight pf.
I wouldn't call your flop bet a Cbet, and I'm paying him off with these stacks if beat. |

you'd better call the raise all in
raise a little less PF, don't be lazy and just use the "pot" button because it's there you very often have villain drawing to 6 outs, imo |

It took me a bit too long to figure out what hands would leave Villian with 6 outs, but I finally got it. |

yeah a folds really bad after betting that much. standard stack off.
also a good idea to think if your gonna call 3k more before betting 2k |

Can someone explain why 4xBB is better than the 5x bet pot bet? Don't you want the limper to fold or put in more money? With the antes, is it a bad result to take this preflop?

Villain almost always raises on this flop. You obviously have high cards and missed. Extremely easy call.
Preflop is obviously "bet pot" button, but I am not sure what is wrong with it. 4xBB is more standard, but why not raise the limper more? |

I'm not sure metagame is quite the word for it, because that implies that a similar situation has to come up later (or have come up already) to get the payoff. But in a situation like this, even without reference to any hands that come before or after, the range of hands with which you can profitably make a pot-sized raise is considerably smaller than the range with which you can profitably 4x. You're putting more money into the pot than you need to accomplish your purpose (isolate and put pressure on the limper), which broadcasts that your hand is above a certain threshold strength. Basically when you pot rather than 4x it is way less likely you are semi-bluffing and way more likely that you have a hand you are willing to felt. Broadcasting that information can only help Villain and hurt you.
However, that fact that there is a pot button at all on FTP offers you some defense, since the move looks less strong than if you 5x'ed on Stars, where it requires more deliberate effort on your part to choose that exact raise size rather than the alternaties. |
