When do you pay your bills? (rant)

In the last year because the landlady who lives below waits until the last day to pay the bills, I've had the water and gas shut off.

What I don't understand is why people who have the money wait until the last possible day to pay bills. Any of you out there? Care to explain your thought process?

Yea, seriously - they don't shut things off if you pay on the last day or a few days late.

then i'd have to remember that i'd paid my bills and the money in my account wasn't really mine anymore. i just pay as i get my bills. that way i don't have to do anything odious like budget.

I pay the bills that come in red envelopes with words like "urgent" on them. I'm a lazy man.
