Roasted red pepper hummus with cheddar Goldfish crackers is awesome.

A few days ago I made a big bowl of hummus and just ate it straight.

Edit: I meant the GIANT Goldfish. The standard ones are too small for dipping.

mmm Hummus is SO delicious! When you say "not too bad for you" you really have to be careful, though, because the calories can add up very quickly, especially since it isn't a cream-based spread so you don't notice how much you're eating.

Without chicks, the hummus market would consist of a couple of really hungry drunk dudes that mistake the container for dip.

I used to think the same, but found out that hummus is awesome.

I'm a Trader Joe's fan and they have a bunch of great flavors. Regular hummus is okay, but some of the flavored stuff is really good.

Pita Chips + Hummus > Chips + Salsa healthwise and not too far behind in taste.

Hummus is good [censored]. An ex co-worker of mine is Lebanese and he gave me his recipe. Ok, here it is:

2 cans Garbonzo beans (Chickpeas to you southerners)
Juice from one lemon
as much garlic as you like/can stand
salt/pepper to taste
olive oil (Use the good flavorful stuff here)

Put beans and garlic into blender. Turn on blender. Slowly add Olive oil until thick paste develops. Add lemon juice and salt and pepper. enjoy.

You should really try and get some home made hummus.. preferably from someone with a non-westernized recipe for it (maybe go to a Jewish or Lebanese deli)... once you try good hummus, going back to "sabra" (or any store bought, mass produced hummus) is painful.

I love this stuff. I eat the roasted red pepper one with Keebler Club Crackers. Good little snack with a beer when I get home from work.
