I started on one dollar sit and goes with $50. you can get a ton of cheap experience and if you have even a minimal idea of preflop starting requirements, you'll have a positive return on investment. I built that up to 20 buy-ins for NL25. It took a long time, but I had an easy adjustment switching to cash and started to win right away.

[ QUOTE ]
P.S. move up if they aren't respecting your raises [/ QUOTE ] In case you weren't sure, that was a joke. The rule of thumb for NL cash is your BR should be 20x your buy-in. At Stars the .01/.02 tables will let you buy in for up to $5.00, IIRC. $2.00 is fine. That's 100BB. So if you're buying in for $2.00, then 20x that is $40.00. At .02/.05 you can buy in for up to $10.00, but the "default" is $6.00. $6.00 is fine. That's 120BB. 20 X $6.00 is $120.00. You can take a shot at .02/.05 with an $80.00 roll. But if you're roll falls to under $50.00, you really should drop down. I currently play uNL cash games on Stars myself. Best of luck to you at the tables! |

multi- tabling doesn't affect bankroll requirements. For NLHE, 20-25x the buy in is standard. So, if you are buying in for 100BB (also standard) so...
.01/.02= $40 to $50 .02/.05= $100 to $125 .05/.1= $200 to $250 .1/.25= $500 to $625 everyone here has given good advice. As you say BR mngmt. has always been your problem and you said yourself you wanted to do thinngs right this time, yet you buy in at .05/.1 with an $80 bankroll. That isn't good bankroll mangmt. Congrats on your initial success but IMO you will play better and gain more confidence at levels which you are comfortably rolled for and don't have a fear of going bust if you hit a downswing in variance. Good luck. |
