I call. I played the 500k and it seems like a large portion of the field plays identically to the 26 dollar tourneys. He would do this with AK and QQ just the same.

If I run into AA oh well... still got that monster two out draw.

If you are so scared of busting out you are considering folding KK pre-flop then you should be playing smaller buy-in tournaments

Well the only argument I can think of for folding is that I don't need to get it all in this early with just one pair. I've got plenty of chips and am confident enough with my play even if it is a 500K (I share your opinion on their not being a big difference in player caliber) to be able to make up the difference later in the game.

But I definitely don't consider folding it because I'm simply scared to bust out early.

You are way ahead of all but one hand. Every other hand you are getting it in with is either "only one pair" or two big, unpaired cards.

Folding KK here is like burning money in the long run. He could have AA, but QQ/JJ/AK are also easily in his range.

Folding here is ludicrous. Don't be afraid of monsters under the bed.

If this was a $5 MTT, what do you do? How about a $55? The play should be the same every time...

Insta call. I dont lay down KK with this stack size.

Did he have AA? Whatever, I dont care, that happens like 1% of the time. Normally we get it all in against QQ and JJ or AK and are way way ahead. In the million I got it all in with QQ in the second level against JJ. In the FTP sunday I got it in with KK on the first level and they had TT. Seriously.... People even in these very large buyin events are willing to take AK or JJ to the felt very early on for no need, so yes, I take KK to the felt. Can I fold it? Possibly, live. But even then its rare, look in the faq, we dont like folding KK here, hardly ever. One time live I folded JJ late because I could read on my opponents face that he had the nuts. He even turned it over and showed me after I mucked mine face down. He seriously thought 88 was the nuts. Silly me.

Yeh, a lot of people play like $25 MTT players, because a lot of them are $25 MTT players in on satellites.

I would call, but this is close. You are cold calling a 4-bet. You might get a different response in the HSMTT forum.

This is a very easy fold with QQ or AK though.

I'd call and evaluate flop... He's IP and can make it a difficult read even if an A doesn't hit the flop. He could be raising w/AK, JJ or QQ which your a pretty big fav...
