What really throws me off is the re-raise from UTG+1. I'm familiar with the AA/KK UTG limp, but an overlimp?? After MP1 called, I'm not too much worried about him. What is my next action? A call seems bad..so that leaves me with push or fold. What is UTG+1's range here? Seems a bit early for a squeeze, doesn't it? |

Re: $50 QQ with PF action
First thing, I do agree with you already realizing that you should've reraised initially, this way if you get a re-re-raise from UTG+1, then you know a LITTLE bit more about the hand, most likely AA or KK. I have read and seen this move before, the overlimp, reraise. What some top players are doing is overlimping, because newbies are overusing the squeeze play b/c they just finished reading Harrington's Volume II. Seasoned players are willing to risk the possible multi-way pot with AA or KK so that when someone does the auto-squeeze in LP, they're ready to pop it again. Hard to say, but you have to either push or fold. Calling isn't going to help you at all, other than building a larger pot that's even harder to get away from. Also, calling will enable amazing odds to those to act behind you.
It's real early in the tourney, I say fold - you misplayed the initial raise and left yourself hanging. Wait around for another spot. |

Re: $50 QQ with PF action
i shove there is a big overlay and he doesn't have aa kk here enough to do anythijng but shove. your flat call creating a volume pot turns qq into a flop a set hand.u could lose a lot of chips to all drawing hands when a k or ace doesnt hit

stop looking for monsters under the bed or stop being results oriented [/ QUOTE ] I'm not (because I've won the pot). I'm just looking for a range for an UTG+1 overlimp-reraise. I pushed because I thought he was squeezing with a medium PP. I've just started playing the $50 MTTs..so I don't know if this was a spew or good play - therefore the post. |

Re: $50 QQ with PF action
You should have raised the first time around and this is a very easy shove as played.
People don't really overlimp QQ+. you have a dominant hand almost always |
