Completing smallblinds
Hey guys. I was wondering what sort of hands you guys complete your small blinds with? I usually complete SBs with connected cards (such as 6-7) and suited highcards (Q-7s for instance). Is this a leak in my play? Of course, I usually take into consideration how many have already limped, but I'd just like some inputs on whether this is -EV or not.
-Thanks in advance! |

Re: Completing smallblinds
It heavily depends on the style you play. Post your stats for the SB. How often you limp, what your winrate is. I know that Pokey is limping A LOT from the SB and very profitably so, because of his exceptional postflop skills. If you have weak postflop skills, you will find yourself much more often in marginal spots OOP, and hence lose much money.
Reading the "blinds" chaper from this anthology will help you a lot: http://www.pr0crast.com/2+2.NL.Anthology.v1.htm |

Re: Completing smallblinds
i think if it's folded to you in the sb it's a raise or fold situation. limping is pretty terrible...

Re: Completing smallblinds
Its highly dependent on your style and also how the BB plays. If he is pretty aggro he will be raising your SB all day(i quite enjoy doing this i must say). So more often than not raise or folding is good. But if you have a nit in the BB and fee like seeing a flop with some small suited connectors then it's alright.

Re: Completing smallblinds
Like you said, it all depends on the table, how many limpers and such.
Look at the link in the first reply and evaluate your SB play to see if you are breaking even with how you play it or not. |
