Default July 2007 - Low Content thread

1-2 no limit, big three way pot on the river. Board is 5678x, four to the straight flush on the board. Player A bets 30, B raises to $90, C coldcalls, comes back to A, who thinks, then just calls. All have plenty of chips left.

The hands are shown and A has the 9h for the nuts. Player next to him asks "why didn't you reraise, you had the nuts?"

A replies "it's called control, sir."

Priceless. I'll be chuckling for days over that one.

Al

Playing 8/16 at Wynn in June, I raise with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] , flop is all clubs, I lead out, old man calls.

Turn is a club, before I lead out, he tells me to save the bets, as he has a str8 flush.

At first I thought that maybe Wynn had introduced a jackpot, but nope, he was just a kind old man who wanted to save me my bets so he could 'show' that he had the str8 flush.

I've seen people bet on the river, and while their opponents are agonizing over a call, they show their hands. Weird business.

There is a guy in my home game who does this consistently on the turn...we all laugh and play along with him.

4/8 LHE

Utg leads river, 2 people call. "Hero" is last to act with the nut flush no pair on board. He...calls.

I ask him wtf he was doing, and he explains "the pot was big enough. The other guy bet for me. I didn't need to bet..."
