A2 PLO8
Villain is passive pre but more aggressive postflop. Seems decent.

Re: A2 PLO8
I would follow with a pot sized bet on the turn to profit from fold equity (The opponent you describe should be able to fold naked low draws.) And if you get a call or a re-raise you will have more than enough outs to win at least 1/2 of the pot.

Re: A2 PLO8
I bet pot on turn, your draw is huge. The only hand that is a favorite vs you is a set with A2 which is very unlikely.
By beting out pot you can make him fold a great number of hands that are currently ahead and thus you force him to make a mistake. And thats how you make money in poker by forcing others to make bad decisions. And one good advice. IF YOU HAVE TO CALL A BET THAT PUTS YOU ALL-IN, BET ALL IN INSTEAD YOURSELF. Edit. This is advice aply only to situations when you are OOP, cause in postion you can check behind. |

By betting out pot you can make him fold a great number of hands that are currently ahead Um, what? You contradict yourself? But if I understand you right, what you mean is that only A2+set would justify a *fold* on your part. If villain were bad, I would agree with potting the turn. Against decent opposition however I would normally assume that he wouldn't call the flop and fold the turn very often. And checking on the turn allows us to control the size of the pot. I call on the river here, but it may be a leak. Seems very player-dependent whether your Ace-high will be good for high often enough to get 3/4 (I'm assuming villain also has the nut low). |

Re: A2 PLO8
i think I misplayed the turn - a pot sized bet puts pressure on my opponent and may fold him out.
I don't understand this statement. By the river I'm happy if it gets checked though. I have to call with the nut low but I have no high. Why should I make this bet if I don't have too? [ QUOTE ] IF YOU HAVE TO CALL A BET THAT PUTS YOU ALL-IN, BET ALL IN INSTEAD YOURSELF. |

[/ QUOTE ] Lets say there is already 30 in the pot, and you have 30 left in your stack. Now if someone bets you all in ( the size of the pot) you have to call with such monster draw you like you had. So if you are out of position simple go all-in yourself. You will profit from fold equity sometimes. |
