How to stretch one\'s stomach
In order to be able to consume mass quantities of food in one sitting or in my case beer it is necessary to stretch the stomach via drinking a great deal of water.
I am a participant in a beer olympics in a week and I plan on being in top shape via stretching my stomach. I know people have died in the past from drinking too much water in one sitting. I am wondering what is a safe amount of water to drink in order to stretch my stomach to its maximum? 1 gallon, 1.5 gallons? And how long before the consumption of food and or beer in this case should this be done? 6 hours? 8 hours? 10 hours? |

Re: How to stretch one\'s stomach
I would stop eating food about 2-3 days before the event.
To keep things safe, when you drink your gallons of water, make sure you are definitely urinating or doing something where you are perspiring. You won't die if your body is using the water. |

Re: How to stretch one\'s stomach
Drinking a lot of water alone is not a good idea. Too much water reduces the amount of sodium and electrolytes that your body needs in order to maintain proper brain function and cooling.
If you're going to use fluids to stretch your stomach, I'd go with a mixture of about half gatorade, and half water. That way you keep your electrolyte level up. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is good advice^ You will be fine as long as you drink some Gatorade with the water, the body will continue to expel excess fluids. Remember the average human bladder's capacity is 1.5 liters. However, it can temporally expand in size, but you will feel a great need to piss like a race horse when this occurs. |
