$6.50 2 hands I\'m not sure about~
Hello. I'm very new to sngs but I have a fairly basic understanding etc, what to push when (although I'm not as knowledgable on ICM as I'd like).
These two hands probably have a lot to do with why I'm not a good player yet, so any feedback would be great. Am I too deep to shove? Hand 2 - I'd noticed that guy had limped a lot and had been weak, so i decided to shove A4. Considering the blinds etc etc was this a good/bad play? |

Re: $6.50 2 hands I\'m not sure about~
Hand 1. Yes, to deep to push. Either standard raise of 250-300, or as my line would be (call me a tight nit) - fold.
Hand 2. Better than hand 1, and you could end up getting away with stealing 500 chips here. But I guess your hand is too weak, and you know for sure you are beaten when somebody (limper or anybody) calls you. I'd wait for a better spot. |

Re: $6.50 2 hands I\'m not sure about~
For Hand 2-- I think your hand might not be strong enough to shove over a limper. It also depends on how wide a range you think the blinds and the limper will call with. If you expect them to call a push with only the very best hands, pushing hands like this will win the blinds enough to be +EV. There aren't an abundance of players like that at the 6.50s though.

Hand 1 - I like a raise 2,5x
Hand 2 - with the reads standard. |

Re: $6.50 2 hands I\'m not sure about~
Hand 1 - I just fold here. You're too deep to push and I think a raise of 2.5xbb just puts you in awkward position if you get called. Plus someone could come over the top and you have another tough decision.
Hand 2 - If you'd seen him limp/fold before then I don't hav a problem with a push. If there were antes then I'd be more inclined to push here. I'd probably just let this go here. |
