Default Full Tilt Points vs. PokerStars Points

Is it true that you get more PokerStars points faster?

Of course it doesn't matter if their items cost more.
I play only sit n gos and i was wondering if it is better to play on pokerstars or full tilt?

I heard Pokerstars gives out more points and you can get items much faster there.

The points have more value per point at Stars but Tilt has rakeback you can get on top of their points. For a casual, low limit player, Tilt is generally a better option if you have rakeback deal.

Stars is a better run site though IMO as far as not going down alot and Customer Service.

has anyone calculated the approximate value of full tilt points as a percentage of MGR? i've seen them done for stars play but not ftp.

i'll take a shot....

1 pt / $1 rake collected. at a 6max table average play is just over five-handed. we'll make it five handed for simplicity. thus 1 pt/ $.20 MGR

benchmark item for calculation: 30GB ipod
cost in points: 61k
cost in dollars: $250

value of one full tilt point based on this item: $0.004

per dollar MGR, five points are earned at 6max - total value: $.02

FTP points should return to the player the value of approximately 2% of his MGR.

If you don't have a rakeback deal at Tilt, then yes I would say Stars is better for sure for SNG's.

If you signed up to Tilt through an affiliate to receive rakeback, then fees paid on SNG's will earn you rakeback also. If you already have an account at Tilt but not with rakeback, then you are basically out of luck.
