there's probably not a written law/rule against it, but if someone cares about you looking into their room you may get a visit from hotel security

different countries would have different laws.

it'd almost certainly be against privacy and anti-stalking laws in australia.

it'd be interesting if you were like on the border of one country, and spying into another.
