Re: 50nl - JJ overpair, linecheck
I would have raised flop to 15.
With your flop line, check behind on turn. As played, you have to fold. |

Re: 50nl - JJ overpair, linecheck
what are your stats and AF?
edit: Ok I'm not gunna bother waiting for a reply. If your viewed as very very aggro (like AF of 4+) and he likes to play back some versus you I would probably call because he's likely semibluffing a lot here. If your AF is like 3ish I would probably fold but its close. If its around 2 or less I would snap call this really fast. Basically if your AF is 4+ he may think you'll bet big draws or very weak hands on the turn, making semibluffing more profitable so you have to pay off lighter. If your AF is mediocre like around 3, then he can't semibluff as often because he's gunna get snapped off by kk/AA/sets/2pair wayy too often. If its low he would never check a set there and is therefore bluffing. holla! |

Re: 50nl - JJ overpair, linecheck
yeah your way too tight easy fold. Sometimes I play really lag like 30/29/5 so thats why my answer is so different.

Re: 50nl - JJ overpair, linecheck
thanks for the replies... why am i raising this flop though? just because of 89? or d'ya htink i get value out of 9T,TJ etc? If i raise and get 1 caller the pots gonna be ~$40 with me having $33 behind. if the turn blanks should i be checking behind? basically, are we ahead and willing to felt it in that situation, or are we just gonna try get to SD cheaply?
say the flops T62r am i still raising flop? thanks |

Re: 50nl - JJ overpair, linecheck
humm reread the hand and realized there probably aren't enough hands that picked up a draw on the turn (maybe T9 or JT?) Also something like AQ/AK but it'd be weird for him to float those. I'd probably just toss it he doesn't seem aggro enuff to warrant a call.

You think that SB could donk with a ten, and that's true, but what is BB (seemingly solid player) calling while knowing he's got the preflop raiser to act behind? A draw? A set? Some other made hand? You may push out some hands that you have well beat, but if you just call, there's a higher likelihood you will be put into a tough spot. As played on the flop, I would check behind the turn. |
