Default 100nl: AK, oop, I want to cry.

villain is pretty new to the table. Hes running at 25/15 after 30 hands. No post-flop reads unfortunately.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 9 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $98.00
BB: $39.00
UTG: $54.85
UTG+1: $108.50
MP1: $148.55
MP2: $107.55
MP3: $126.15
CO: $18.00
BTN: $171.70

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (9 Players)
2 folds, MP1 raises to $3.00, MP2 folds, MP3 calls $3.00, 2 folds, Hero calls $2.50, BB calls $2.00

I hate 3 betting oop with drawing hands so calling is my standard play here.

Flop: ($12) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players)
Hero bets $9.00, BB folds, MP1 calls $9.00, MP3 folds

I lead into this drawy flop because i dont want it to get checked though

Turn: ($30) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $20.00, MP1 calls $20.00

My reasons for betting are the same as those for the flop

River: ($70) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets all-in for $116.55, hero starts crying.

Ok leading sucks because everything i beat folds, so i check, villain pushes and I'm getting around 2:1. 55,JJ, KK, KJ is what I'm most afraid of. I have no clue if villain is the type to slowplay these hands. On the other hand a billion draws just missed and villain could be bluffing.

Thoughts on play up till river?
call or fold river?

I reraise preflop for staters as i definetly don't want to be playing a 3-way, 4-way pot with AK oop. As played river is difficult but I probably call, JJ,KK,AA,55,JK surely would have put in a raise somewhere and as you said a whole ton of draws just missed.

As played:
On the river I would:
Block bet. Block bet. Block bet. 1/2 pot. 1/2 pot. 1/2 pot. Fold to push. Fold to push. Fold to push.

I would definitely reraise PF. Get it down to 2 handed. AK sucks in multiway pots OOP.

As played, fold readless here on the river. You don't want to go stacking off with a pair.

I believe the bolded parts are terrible advice.

why call? for the chop? what do you beat that is playing this way.

is he such a donkey that he won't take the lead with his draws and will c/c c/c hugely bluff river with a draw?

that means that he's seen you enough that he knows you can fold TP.

i dunno, very difficult spot. if i call i wouldn't like it.

You are dead on with all the missed draws, and villan's line seems to suggest that. And his all in smells like a miss draw bluff.

On the other hand, I pushed ai with a nut flush to entice villan into thinking I was bluffing. He bit and I took down the pot. So he can be doing the same here. The bottom line is you have no history on villan, so I would fold here.

I think against a 25/15 you should def. 3-bet here first off.
Why did you lead out though? We expect him to bet...a check raise is def. in order.
I dont see anything wrong with the play, the river bet is suprising, but its what we expect to see happen. Its a tough spot...I think a call is in order...ahead of KQ, AJ, missed draw...The others I think would look to get a bit more value out of.

looks like a call to me, 55,KK,JJ, KJ, etc. probably raise on the flop or at least the turn. I would expect to see something like AQss, JQss, JTss, or some other random combo draw here a lot of the time.
