I would have bet more on the turn $7.50 or so.

I'm not exactly sure what I would do on the river, since the straight hit and the flush hit the turn. I mean what legit hand do we beat, certainly now draw.

Im confused I'd like to hear other thoughts.

This puts the pressure back on him. If he reraises then he probably hit a flush or has a strong A then you can fold or call if you think your A7 is good enough. If he just calls then just check the river because he will either check as well or bet but probably not too hard (well not as hard as a total shove - unless he is a nut) because now he is guessing what you have and you can call to see if you can beat him.

So what happened with the hand? Did you fold or call? I still think he slow played a monster.

I think I would have played it softly. Here is my line.
Bet 2.50-3.00 on flop, check turn * he may put you on flush and you get free card, if not you call what he puts in*, check river * not much you can do here, if he bets small you call, big you fold.
BTW I think he has A, K or possibly K,K. You didn't give any info on the guy so I don't really know. With K,K with trip K's in position I would call down then bet big on river - might have raised turn/flop though...
