I disagree with raise the turn for a "free" showdown... Villain bets $20 on the turn, standard raise would be to $60 (costing you $40... the same amount the villain bets on the river)...
Also, if the villain is bluffing, then he will fold rather than induce the extra bluff. If he really does have a good hand and shoves you miss your chance to hit a 2 outer. Also for the record, I would fold your cowboys, I think you're beat unless you have evidence of this guy multi barreling. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not saying I agree in raising the turn, but your logic doesnt hold up, since a "standard" bet on the river is not 40$. What if he bets 65$?(Which is more probable) Then raising the turn will yield profit, since 60$<(20+65). I probably play it the same though, since he's giving me good odds on turn and river(and calling river obv). |
