Is this a good proposal ??
Ok, thought I'd ask guys/ladies think about my idea on how to propose...
Me & my girlfridn have been together for 8 years, we have 3 kids together & been living together for those eight years... Well you might ask how come it's taking me this long. The truth is that she always wanted to get married but I guess I was not ready but now I am. (yes I do love her & I'm ready to take it to the next step). Her & I owe a time share we bought some years back & our week is in two weeks so we will be spending it in orlando FL with about 20 people of my family. I was thinking of proposing to her infront of everybody at this Pirate dinner show we will be attending. I already called & asked the place to see if this is possible & they said yes... They have a package that will cost me $120 that includes champaign & other stuff.. Do you guys think that my proposal will be corny ? She's not a shy girl she likes center of attention on the other hand I'm the shy person to get infront of an audience but I'm willing to do this.... what do you all think ? |

Proposals in the presence of pirates are always good.

Yes, it keeps vengeance an option. Ask for pricing on the keelhaul option.

Re: Is this a good proposal ??
This is a bad idea. Public proposals are goofy. In private, get down on one knee, ask her to marry you, and present her with a ring.

Re: Is this a good proposal ??
I feel they're terribly overrated and put the girl under a terrible crapload of pressure. Her choice is basically, say yes, or be the spotlighted public bad guy. Not fair.
Plus the last thing you want is someone agreeing to marry you because they felt confused or under pressure. Or maybe that's just the last thing I would want, anyway. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree, but in this case it seems a yes is a foregone conclusion. Imagine the kiddies' horror when mommy says no to daddy's pirate proposal. If she is game for this type of thing then go for it. Just be aware that this advice comes from a guy who is still trying to convince his wife to let Elvis remarry us next time we are in Vegas....... |

Here's what you should do:
Honey, since we're already (probably) common-law married, how about we make it official? |

[/ QUOTE ] I say what's wrong with a crapload of pressure? He should propose in public and make her say yes. It's been 8 years and 3 kids for heaven's sake. What are they waiting for? |
