Default deep, facing overbet from regular/2p2er

i raise in MP with 99, he calls in CO, big donk calls in SB. its a 3/6 game, donk has about 700, me and reg have about 1100 each. villain is probably a little overaggro, or at least has the rep to be.

flop is 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
donk checks, I bet, CO calls, donk folds.

turn is a 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I checks, he pots, I think for a second and call

river is a T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
i check, he overbet shoves about 850 into a pot of 450.

what are we thinking here?

what if our hand is JJ? QQ+?

lets also say that villain isn't calling 2nd barrels very light on the turn, but may be floating a lot.

To me having 99 versus JJ/QQ isn't that big a difference. I doubt he is ever value pushing here figuring you are calling with worse. I think his range included a missed FD, 3s4s, or a boat. Had to know frequencies of those.

Does he know you are capable of calling with a hand like 99? I would suppose he does if he is a regular 2+2er.

Yeah our hand does read like 99. I don't think he shows up with a ten hardly ever unless it was part of two spades. I'd also expect him to bet more like .7 pot on the river if he thinks your range is middle pairs and has the ten.

If I had one guess as to what hand he had here I would say 3s4s becuase I could see playing that hand the same way. It's hard to believe he would be so blantly pushing a missed FD here if he knows you are capable of calling light.

so you are leaning towards a fold? wouldnt that make his "blatant pushing" pretty good?

Yeah I like a fold usually in these spots.

i think there are pretty good reasons for calling and folding here, and i don't think either decision can really be knocked too hard here.

probably help if we knew who it was, like obv browerkid=fold, vs some spewy tag=call

also, i think my friend eric said he met you the other day somewhere or maybe last week?
